At Whitby Christian Fellowship we hold a monthly prayer meeting as well as making prayer a vital part of our 3 weekly House Groups. These meetings are from 7.30pm - 9pm and are usually held at The Salvation Army Hall, so there's plenty of room for all who wish to attend.
The Bible tells us that prayer is important for many reasons: it is our direct line to God, the way with which we communicate with Him. The passage above, from the book of James, shows that we can pray to God for all kinds of reasons. Whether, we're ill, or whether we have reason to give thanks, we can bring our prayers to God and he listens.
The Bible says that if we pray to God and ask Him to forgive our sins, we will be forgiven - this is at the heart of our Christian faith.
Prayer is our way of communicating with God. Prayer enables us to bring our requests and thanks to God directly - anyone can pray!
To many people, prayer seems complicated, but it is simply talking to God.
